This privacy policy explains how KhanTutoring (“we”, “us”, “our”), a tutoring service based in Taunton, Somerset, collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit khantutoring.co.uk or use our tutoring services. The information we collect
When you fill in our Booking / free taster session form, we collect:
- The parent or guardian’s first name, last name, email address and phone number
- The student’s name and academic year / key stage
- The subject(s) you are enquiring about
- Any additional information you choose to give us about the student’s needs, so that we can prepare an appropriate free taster session (for example, exam board, target grade, or specific learning needs)
We only ask for what we need to arrange and deliver tutoring. We do not ask for payment card details through this website; payment for lessons is arranged separately once tutoring begins.
Children’s information
KhanTutoring provides tutoring to school-age students. Information about a student is provided to us by their parent or guardian, who confirms they are authorised to share it with us and to accept this privacy policy on the student’s behalf. We only use a student’s information to arrange and deliver tutoring and will not use it for any other purpose.
Why we collect it and our legal basis
We use this information to respond to your enquiry, arrange your free taster session, match you with an appropriate tutor, and deliver ongoing tutoring if you choose to continue. Our legal basis for processing this information is your consent (given when you submit the booking form) and, once tutoring begins, the performance of a contract for tutoring services.
Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent your information to third parties. We may share limited information with trusted service providers who help us run this website and our booking process, including our website hosting provider and email service. These providers only process information on our instructions and are required to keep it secure.
Cookies and analytics
Like most websites, khantutoring.co.uk uses cookies. Some are essential for the site to work correctly. We also use Google Analytics (via Site Kit by Google) to understand how visitors use our site, so we can improve it. This creates anonymised, aggregated statistics and does not identify you personally. How long we keep your information
If you enquire but do not go on to book tutoring with us, we will keep your enquiry details for up to 12 months in case you’d like to get in touch again, and then delete them. If you become a tutoring client, we keep your information for as long as needed to provide tutoring and to meet our legal and accounting obligations, and then delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to ask us to transfer it elsewhere. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at learn@khantutoring.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the personal information we hold from loss, misuse or unauthorised access.
